MY DEAR MOTHER,

My mother is the wisest, most gracious, loving woman I know.
My friends all want to be adopted.
I am the youngest of three girls, born in Scotland, we came to Vancouver in the late 50’s.
My mother always dressed us beautifully in little suits or dresses with matching hats and gloves.
She dressed my two sisters identically, but I always got unique outfits and wore poppit beads and pearls. Now I am the one dressing all of us.
My mom at 94, lives on her own and just gave up driving last year. She always looks great, very put together even if she is not having visitors. I often show her my latest prints to get her opinion. She has a very good eye.
She brought us up to love family and to care for one another…so we do. It’s her inner strength that has guided us all these years. We are all now mothers and my sisters are grandmothers making my mother a great -grandmother seven times over.
Today I want to honor my beautiful, elegant, compassionate mom and thank her for always being there when I need her. For giving me the gift of seeing beauty and love, which I cherish!
